Women's Ministry

"Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose."  Philippians 2:2

We seek to bring glory to God as we:

Encourage spiritual growth in the study of God's Word

Extend care to other believers through fellowship and supportive ministries

Experience God's love as we provide service ministries to our community

Our ministry activities

These are some of the specific ministry activities you can be a part of at Daybreak.  Some are added or discontinued as the needs of the church and community change. Some of these are ongoing ministry opportunities that happen regularly and some are special events held throughout the year.  If you'd like more information about any of these, please contact the Women's Ministry director, Kathy Embry. k.embry@daybreakbpatist.com  661-204-0485

  • Bible Study

This is the foundation upon which our ministry is built.  There are a variety of Bible studies provided to help you grow closer in your relationship with God, as well as experience fellowship and friendship with other women.  You will always find a list of those at the Women's Ministry table in the church foyer.  We will list some here.

Sunday 6:00 PM  Bible Journaling and Study

    Wednesday 9:30 AM  Bible Study

  • Prayer Quilts

This ministry provides a visible reminder to people that they are being prayed for.  Quilts are made upon request and as each piece is sown, the person and their needs are being lifted up in prayer. Upon the completion of each quilt, it is placed in the foyer of the church, where the entire church family has the opportunity to pray for this person and tying the knots in the quilt.  If you know of someone who would be encouraged by a prayer quilt, you can fill out a request at the Women's ministry table.  There is always room for more sewers or non-sewers to participate.  They meet every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM.

  • Angel ministry

These precious ministry "Angels" send cards to the women of our church family who are ill or hospitalized and provide encouragement and prayer for them during their recovery.

  • Sweet Reflections

This ministry is designed to help widows by involving them in small groups where they feel comfortable and can establish friendships with those who understand the changes that have come about in their lives.  Currently there are 5 small groups of 4-6 women.  Each group meets on a monthly basis and activities include going to lunch, going to movies, or just fellowship together.  All groups come together once every 3 months for lunch at Laraine's to share a meal and devotional together.

  • Prayer Seekers

This group of ladies meets every Friday at the church at 11:00 AM.  They intercede for the needs of the church staff, family and the community.

  • secret sisters

A secret and fun way to encourage a sister in Christ throughout the year.  Cards and gifts are given to a secret sister for special occasions or just because.  Secret sisters have a brunch each January to reveal those who have been encouraging each other all year long.

  • Because she's special

Women are invited for a special evening of inspiration and fellowship.  A catered dinner served by the gentlemen in our church family and a relaxed evening provide an atmosphere perfect for outreach to friends, neighbors and family.  It will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 6:00 PM.

  • WOmen's conference

Each October, the Women's Ministry hosts a conference at Daybreak, open for women of all ages from all over the community.  There is a lunch buffet provided with inspirational testimonies and worship that make this event something not to be missed.
